Mobile Banking Services Configuration

This section is used to set the message codes that are to be used in the system during the SMS transactions.

How to set SMS Codes

To set SMS codes you go to Systems\Configurations\SMS Transactions\SMS CODES and a screen like the one below shows up:

• MESSAGE CODE: The drop down menu contains a list of services that can be provided to clients. You click on the drop down menu and select the service that you want to set up.
• Transaction amount: Here you can set the minimum and the maximum amount that is allowed to be transferred for a particular transaction. Note that this section will become visible only if you if you choose "Send message when savings are transferred", "Make bills payments" and "Inter MFI Transfers" from the drop down list of the MESSAGE CODEs.

• Message Parameters: This is a read only field that displays message parameters for the users information only.
• Customise SMS message: This field is read only and displays the labels that the customers will use while making enquiries based on the selected message code.
• To be replied? Ticking or unticking the checkbox will enable messages to be replied or not respectively.
• To be charged? (for savings only): Used to indicate whether a transaction is to be charged or not.
• Amount to Charge: In the "Sending" or "Receiving" text boxes, enter the amount to charge the client for sending or receiving funds respectively e.g "5000".
• GL Account:Select from the drop down menu, the GL account where the amount charged while receiving or sending funds is to be posted to. This account should have been set in the Chart of Accounts.
• New GL Account: If the GL account for the charges above was not set, you can click on this button to access the chart of accounts and create a new general ledger account.
• Print: To display the sms message codes click on the Print button and a screen like the one below shows up:

Select what should be printed from the available message code display options and click Ok to print or view the report in different formats.

Click on the Save button to effect the settings.
